better?
This blog is a way for us to share ideas and creations with each other!
This page is one Alissa told me I should post. I really like it. For the background page, I zoomed in super close to one of the bars. I think it make an interesting background as well as giving a streamlined look for the page.
Thanks for including me in this page. I feel like I am just rebounding from baby #3 in order to start these kinds of projects again. So hopefully there will be more coming soon! :)
So, one thing I like to do in my scrapbooking is create my own picture using many different elements I can find. For this page, I wanted to create a castle scene for my daughter Emilie. I got pictures of a castle and a horse on the Internet and a picture of Emilie dressed like a Princess to cut and paste on the page. It takes a bit of time, but I think it is so fun to see the end results. The clouds, sky and ground illusions were done with some plain blue, white and greenish papers. I shaped them with the cutting tool on Photoshop to give it personality. I have below the page pictures of the originals so that you can get an idea of how it works.
When I used this picture, I didn't have enough leg to appear to be straddling a horse. I had to use the clone tool to make it look like her leg was longer.
I just cut this out in and pasted it
I had to flip this picture around so that it would point the right way when "Emilie" was sitting on it. When layering the pictures on top of each other in photoshop, the bottom layer is the bottom half of the horse, the middle layer is Emilie, and the top layer is the front of the horse. And by the miracle of photoshop, it looks like one picture!

A few weeks ago my brother and my sister and I were cleaning at my Mom's. She has a "bouquet" of peacock feathers that she has had on her mantle for over 40 years. In the process of moving them, they tipped over and some of the feathers got bent. I tried to talk my mother into getting rid of them but she wouldn't hear of it. I told her I would make her a card with them so she could keep the memory of the feathers. Still she wouldn't part with them. Later she gave me a few of them that had broken and the rest she put back in their vase. I made her a birthday card for her 95th birthday out of one of the broken feathers.

I am doing scrapbooking for my sister-in-law and these are my first few pages...
